桜

We will be talking about cherry blossoms.


Naoyuki: The cherry blossom season has come again. A lot of people enjoy having parties under the sakura blossoms. Have you ever been to the party?

Caroline: No, I haven't. I am attending the first Hanami Party next week. I am looking forward to viewing the beauty of cherry blossoms and tasting Japanese delicacies.

Naoyuki: Sounds fun! We sometimes say "Hana yori Dango" which means that we enjoy food more than flowers. Is there any English proverb like this?

Caroline: Well,,,I think "Bread is better than the songs of birds". Of course I prefer the songs of birds:)

今日は桜について話します。

ナオユキ： 桜の季節がまた来たね。大勢の人が、桜の花の下で飲み会を開くのを楽しむんだよ。そういう飲み会に行ったことある？

カロライン： いいえ、ないわ。来週初めて花見に参加するのよ。桜の美しさを見るのと、日本の珍味を味わうのを楽しみにしているわ。

ナオユキ： 楽しそうだね！僕らは時々、「花より団子」って言うんだ。花よりも食べ物を楽しむってことだけどね。英語で似たようなことわざってある？

カロライン： えーと、「鳥の歌より、パンのほうが良い」かしら。もちろん私は、鳥の歌のほうが好きよ (^-^)

ナオユキ： 僕も (^-^)
