新年会

We will be talking about New year's parties.

Naoyuki: How many New year's parties are you going to attend this month?

Caroline: I have so many invitations this year. I don't know which one I will attend but definately I won't attend all of them. There are just so many "nomikais" in Japan !

Naoyuki: Yeah, it's a kind of Japanese culture. We can talk to each other at the party even if we haven't met for a long time. That's a good point of seasonal events.

Caroline: Oh. That makes sense. I understand now, especially considering the fact that Japanese people work so hard and for so many hours.

Naoyuki: All right, Caroline. Let's work hard for parties!

今日は新年会について話します。

ナオユキ： 今月は何回新年会に参加する？

カロライン： 今年はとてもたくさん招待されたわ。どれに参加するかまだ分からないけど、絶対全部はでないわね。日本では本当たくさんの「飲み会」があるわねー。

ナオユキ： うーん、日本の文化のようなものだね。長い間会っていなくても、、飲み会でお互い話し合えるし。それが、季節的なイベントの良いところだね。

カロライン： ああ、それだと意味が分かるわね。私、今理解したわ、特に日本の人はとても一生懸命、長い時間働くことを考慮するとね。

ナオユキ： よーし、カロライン。飲み会のために一生懸命働こう！
