季節

We will be talking about the seasons.


Naoyuki: The weather is getting a little more bearable recently. Spring is around the corner.

Caroline: Oh, is it? I hardly know when seasons begin or end in Japan. However, I am aware that you have four seasons. Can you believe that we have no seasons?

Naoyuki: No seasons? That sounds strange to me. You mean in Kenya there is only one season like Summer?

Caroline: You could say that, but we have rainy season and dry season. In this case we can say we have two seasons. However, it is warm throughout the year apart from July. July is the coldest month of the year for us.

Naoyuki: Oh, I didn't know that. What's the temperature in July?

Caroline: The lowest temperature in July is 10 degrees.

Naoyuki: That sounds good. I want to go to Kenya in July!

今日は季節について話します。

ナオユキ： 最近少しは過ごしやすくなってきたね。春ももうすぐそこだ。

カロライン： え、そう？私は日本で季節がいつ始まるのか終わるのか良く分からないわ。でも、季節が４つあるのは知っている。私達のところは季節がないって信じられる？

ナオユキ： 季節がない？何か変な感じ。ケニヤでは、夏みたいな季節が１つしかないってこと？

カロライン： そうとも言えるわ、でも、私達には雨季と乾季があるのよ。この場合は、２つの季節があるということね。でも、1年を通して暖かいのよね、7月を除いては。7月は私達にとって1年で一番寒いのよ。

ナオユキ： へー、知らなかった。7月の気温は？

カロライン： 7月の最低気温は10度よ。

ナオユキ： いいねー。僕は7月にケニヤに行きたい！
