女子ゴルフ

We will be talking about Women's Golf.

Naoyuki: Lately a lot of promising young women golfers have appeared on the scene. Not just in Japan but also in South Korea. I think it's especially mysterious that so many South Koreans have entered the top rankings.

David: Yeah, I don't usually associate South Korea with golfing success. I wonder why it's happened.

Naoyuki: If there's ever a super star player in a given place, I suppose children all want to be like him or her, so that raises the skill level of the entire country.

David: I suppose Michelle Wie was the super star player. But isn't she too young? Maybe Tiger Woods then...

Naoyuki: But if it was Tiger Woods, why did that only affect young South Koreans and not the entire world? What about Pak Se Ri?

今日は女子ゴルフについて話します。

ナオユキ： 最近将来有望な若い女性ゴルファーがたくさん出てきたね。日本だけじゃなくて韓国でも。なんであんなにたくさんの韓国の人がランキング上位に入っているのかが特に不思議だなー。

デーヴィッド： うん、韓国とゴルフの成功をたいてい関連付けないよね。なんでそうなったんだろう。

ナオユキ： もしあるところにスーパースターがいれば、子供たちはみんな彼や彼女みたいになりたいと思って、その国全体のスキルレベルを上げると思うな。

デーヴィッド： ミッチェル・ウィーはスーパースターだったんじゃない。でも若すぎるか？多分タイガー・ウッズ。。。

ナオユキ： でももしタイガー・ウッズなら、なんで、韓国の若手に影響して、世界全体に影響しないの？パク・セリかな？
