There are many slang words used in English. Can you guess the meaning of these slang words?


Today's slang words are



a dump :  I don't want to live in a dump. I want to live in a nice, clean place.

a greasy spoon : I don’t want to spend a lot of money on lunch. Let’s just find a greasy spoon and have a hamburger or something.

a fix-it-upper
:  My wife and I don’t want to buy a new house. We’re looking for a fix-it-upper that’s cheaper.

a hole-in the-wall : I want to open a tattoo parlour, so I need to find a hole-in-the-wall to rent.






Meaning.



a dump = a dirty, old place

a greasy spoon = a cheap, small restaurant that serves oily hamburgers, french fires etc.  (a diner) 

a fix-it-upper = a house that needs a lot of repair

a hole-in-the-wall = a small commercial space between other buildings (a small shop)
