Naoyuki: Every year the Sapporo Snow Festival takes place in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Many people visit the festival to see the hundreds of snow statues and ice sculptures at the Odori Park.
Juliana: Have you ever participated in this festival? I have only read about it and I would like to take part or even just see what goes on there. Isn't it hard to curve the sculptures in the cold?

Naoyuki: I have been to the festival a couple of years ago. It was very cold but I could see the beautiful snow statues. Besides I could eat delicious foods like Sushi, Ramen and Crabs, etc. As for curving I think it must be hard, since it's so cold.
Juliana: Does the food there taste different from the food in Tokyo? I hear that you have to change the sole of your shoes to be able to walk in the snow. Is that what happens?
Naoyuki: I think the food is fresher, so it's better. We actually need to be careful not to slip on the ice. Otherwise we will fall down and hit our heads...

今日は札幌雪祭りについて話します。
ナオユキ： 毎年札幌雪祭りが北海道の札幌で行われるんだ。多くの人が大通公園にあるたくさんの雪像や氷の彫刻を見るためにお祭りを訪れるんだよ。
ジュリアナ： そのお祭りに参加したことある？私はお祭りについて読んだことがあるだけね。参加するか、何が行われるかだけでも見てみたいわ。寒い中で彫刻を彫るのは大変じゃないのかしら？
ナオユキ： 僕は数年前にそのお祭りに行ったことがあるよ。とても寒かったけど、美しい雪像を見ることができたよ。その上、お寿司とか、ラーメンとかカニとか、、おいしい食べ物を食べることができたよ。彫ることについては、大変だと思うよ、寒いから。
ジュリアナ： 食べ物は東京と味が違うの？私聞いたんだけど、雪の中を歩けるように靴底を変えないといけないんだって。そんなこと起こるの？
ナオユキ： 食べ物はより新鮮だと思うよ、だから良い。実際僕らは転ばないように氷の上では気をつけないといけないね。そうでないと、転んで、頭打って、、、
