Today's entry is all about cooking!

Yoshiko: Have you been doing any cooking recently?

David: Yeah, I cook my lunch most days, and sometimes cook in the evenings too. Next week my wife will be away for a week so I have to do all the cooking myself...

Yoshiko: Oh, really? That's great that you make it yourself. Obviously it's okay to just eat whatever you want if you're just cooking for yourself, but still. Even if something is nice for you, it's possible to get sick of it. So I often look around on the internet for recipes.

David: Does your husband ever help with the cooking?

Yoshiko: Not at all. But I don't know if that's a bad thing or not. It would be no good if we had conflicting styles!

David: I suppose so. My wife and I usually take it in turns, because if we make it together I always get told off for doing it wrong.

Yoshiko: That's a good idea! I'll use it for future reference...

今日は料理について話します。

ヨシコ：デーヴィッドは最近、料理することってあるの？

デーヴィッド: あるよ、ほぼ毎日自分のランチを作ってるし、時々夜のも作ってるよ。来週は妻がいないから、全部一人でやらないといけないんだ。

ヨシコ：え～ちょっとびっくり！自炊してるなんてすごい。料理って自分ひとりだと適当でもいいかなと思うけど、なかなか難しいわね。自分は良くても、この味付けに飽きたとか言われたりするし、ネットで新しい料理を研究したりしてるわ。

デーヴィッド: 旦那さんは料理、手伝ってくれる？

ヨシコ：皆無ですよ～。でもどっちがいいのかはわからないわね、自分のやり方と違ったりすればやりにくいし・・・

デーヴィッド: そうだね、でももし僕と妻が一緒に作ったら、いつも「やり方が違うよ！」と言われるから、今は交代して作ってるんだ。

ヨシコ：それいいかも！将来の参考になったわ。
