ヌーの大移動

We will be talking about the Great Wildebeest Migration.

Juliana: Have you ever heard about the great wildebeest migration in Kenya and Tanzania?

Naoyuki: No, I haven't. What is that?

Juliana: It's the movement of these animals from Kenya to Tanzania to search for green pastures. It takes place between July and October and it involves about 1.3 million wildebeests.

Naoyuki: That sounds great! Do you know how long it takes for them to get to Tanzania?

Juliana: Well, I am not sure but I bet it would take about a month for all the animals to get to the other side of the border. It's lovely when you watch them crossing the rivers. You should visit Kenya someday.

Naoyuki: I hope so!

今日はヌーの大移動について話します。

ジュリアナ： ケニヤとタンザニアのヌーの大移動って聞いたことある？

ナオユキ： ないなー。何それ？

ジュリアナ： それは、これらの動物が、ケニヤからタンザニアへ、緑の牧草を探し求めて移動することを言っているの。７月から１０月の間に行われて、１３０万頭のヌーが移動するのよ。

ナオユキ： すごそうだね！彼らがタンザニアに行くまでに、どのくらいの時間がかかるか知っている？

ジュリアナ： うーん、よく分らないけど、すべての動物が国境の反対側に行くには、１ヶ月はかかるんじゃないかしら。彼らが川を渡っているのを見るのはすばらしいわよ。いつかケニヤに行くべきよ。

ナオユキ： 行きたいでーす！
