David: So the WBC is taking place at the moment, isn't it? How are Japan doing?

Naoyuki: We lost to South Korea on Monday, but it was a very good game. It was 0-1. I think Iwakuma and Darvish pitched really well.

David: So what does that mean? Have Japan been knocked out?

Naoyuki: Even though we lost, we'll be going through to the second round anyway.

David: So that's okay then. Who will you play against in the second round?

Naoyuki: We came second in Pool B, so that means we'll probably have to play against Cuba.

David: I wonder if Japan will defend their WBC title this year...

デーヴィッド： WBCが今行われているよね？日本はどうなの？

ナオユキ： 僕らは月曜日に韓国に負けちゃったよ。でもとても良い試合だったね。0対1で。僕は岩熊とダルビッシュはとても良く投げたと思う。

デーヴィッド： それはどういうことなの？日本は敗退しちゃったの？

ナオユキ： 僕らは負けちゃったけど、２次ラウンドには行けるんだ。

デーヴィッド： それなら良いね。２次ラウンドでは、どこと対戦するの？

ナオユキ： 僕らはグループBの2位だから、つまり、多分キューバとやらなければならないね。

デーヴィッド： 日本は今年WBCのタイトルを守れるのでしょうか。。。
