ブラックプディング

We will be talking about black pudding.



David: Have you ever tried black pudding?

Naoyuki: No, I haven't. Is it nice?

David: I like it. It's like a sausage, but made from congealed cow's blood, mixed together with herbs and spices.

Naoyuki: How often is black pudding eaten in the average British home? In Japan, there are people who eat natto every day...

David: Traditionally I think it was eaten every day, but nowadays people don't have time to cook and prepare it, so we just have it maybe once a week or once every two weeks or thereabouts.

Naoyuki: So it's really that much of a staple...

David: There are probably some people who never eat it, but I'd say most people at least eat it once every two weeks. Try it sometime!

今日はブラックプディングについて話します。

デーヴィッド： ブラックプディング食べたことある？

ナオユキ： いや、ないよ。おいしいの？

デーヴィッド： 僕は好きだよ。ソーセージみたいだけど、凍らせた牛の血から出来ていて、ハーブとスパイスが一緒に混ざっているんだ。

ナオユキ： イギリスの家庭では、平均してどのくらいの頻度でブラックプディングが食べられているの？日本では、納豆を毎日食べている人もいるけど。。。

デーヴィッド： 伝統的には毎日食べられていたと思うんだけど、最近は、料理をしたり、準備をする時間がないから、１週間に１回か、２週間かその位に１回くらい食べるかなー。

ナオユキ： じゃー本当によく食べられているんだね。

デーヴィッド： 多分全く食べない人もいるんだけど、ほとんどの人は２週間に一度は食べるんじゃないかな。いつか食べてみて！
