Naoyuki: In recent years, comic cafes, where people can read comics cheaply, have been increasing in number in Japan. Have you ever been to a comic cafe?
Caroline: Yes, I have. However, we foreignors know them as "Internet Cyber Cafes". This is because that is where people go to check mail, print or surf the internet. I was amazed to realise that they have more functions in Japan other than these. For instance, people read comics, watch movies and rest (sleep) there too during late night hours when the trains are not available.
Naoyuki: The first time I went to a comic cafe was like the same situation. I had worked until midnight and there was no train and no hotel room available. I had to go there just for sleeping. I don't want to remember.
Caroline: Why is that? Was it uncomfortable or noisy? What did you do? Did you sleep or surf?
Naoyuki: The cafe was a very old one and the space was not separated. I just lay down on the reclining chair and slept for 3 or 4 hours...

今日は漫画喫茶について話します。
ナオユキ： 最近、安く漫画が読める漫画喫茶が日本で増えているんだ。漫画喫茶って行ったことある？
カロライン： あるわよ。でも私たち外国人は、「インターネットサイバーカフェ」として知っているわね。これって、メールをチェックしたり、印刷したり、ネットサーフィンする場所だからなのねー。日本ではこれら以外にも、いろいろなことができるからびっくりしちゃったわ。例えば、漫画を読んで、映画を観て、電車が無くなったら、深夜の時間帯にそこで休んだり（眠ったり）。
ナオユキ： 僕が漫画喫茶に初めて行った時は、同じ状況だったよ。深夜まで働いていて、電車がなく、ホテルも空いている部屋がなく。ただ、寝るだけにそこに行かなければならなかったんだ。思い出したくないなー。
カロライン： 何でなの？快適じゃなかったの、それとも、うるさかった？何したの？寝たの？ネットサーフィン？
ナオユキ： その漫画喫茶はとても古くて、空間が仕切られていなかったんだ。僕はただ、リクライニングの椅子に横になり、3，4時間眠った。。。
カロライン： 少なくとも眠ったのね！終電無くなったら、その選択肢を忘れないようにしないと。
