David: Did you hear the news about Sven-Goran Eriksson? He was England's manager at the 2002 and 2006 world cups, and before that he managed Lazio. But now he's taken over at Notts County, which is a small club in the fourth tier of English football. Nobody knows the reason why.
Naoyuki: I know Eriksson. He's famous among football fans. Why did such a famous manager become the manager of such a small team?

David: That team is a little famous because it was the world's first professional football club. They were founded in 1862. So maybe Eriksson likes the idea of taking that team to the Premier League.

Naoyuki: But it's the fourth division! It's impossible isn't it?

David: Probably. Maybe it's just Eriksson's old man's dream.

デーヴィッド： スヴェン・ヨラン・エリクソンのニュース聞いた？彼は、2002年、2006年ワールドカップのイングランド代表監督で、その前は、ラツィオの監督だったんだ。でも今は、ノッツ・カウンティを引き受けたんだ。そのチームは、イングランドサッカーの4部に所属している小さいチームなんだよ。誰も理由は分からないんだけど。

ナオユキ： エリクソンは知っているよ。サッカーファンの中では有名だよ。何でそんな有名な監督が、そんな小さなチームの監督になったんだろうね？

デーヴィッド： そのチームは、世界で最初のプロサッカークラブとして、少しは有名なんだけどね。1862年に設立されたんだ。だから多分エリクソンはそんなチームをプレミアリーグまで連れて行きたいんじゃないかな。

ナオユキ： でも4部だよね！無理じゃない？
デーヴィッド： おそらく。多分それはエリクソンの年老いた男の夢なんだよ。
