We will be talking about Harry Potter.


David: So I saw the latest Harry Potter film yesterday.

Naoyuki: How was it?

David: Pretty good actually. I haven't read the books but I've seen all the films so far. This was probably the best one. Have you read the books or seen the films?

Naoyuki: I've not read the books but I saw some of the films when they were on TV. The stories are all mixed up inside my head.

David: Yeah, I think the story for each one is basically the same, so it's tough to remember which bit is in which film. Has there ever been a series of Japanese novels made into a series of films, like Harry Potter?

Naoyuki: Famous manga are often made into films. Recently they're being made into live action films, like Dragonball or Deathnote. I want to see a Captain Tsubasa movie someday...

今日はハリーポッターについて話します。

デーヴィッド： 昨日ハリーポッターの最新作見たよ。

ナオユキ： どうだった？

デーヴィッド： 実際かなり良かったね。本は読んだことないんだけど、映画はこれまで全部見ているんだ。今回のが多分一番だね。本は読んだことある？それか映画は見たことある？

ナオユキ： 本は読んだことないけど、映画はテレビでやったときはいくつか見たね。頭の中でストーリーがこんがらがってるけど。

デーヴィッド： うん、でもまあそれぞれのストーリーは基本的には同じだと思うな。だからどれがどの映画かを思い出すのは大変だよ。日本の小説でハリーポッターみたいに映画のシリーズになったものってある？

ナオユキ： 有名な漫画は結構映画になるけど。最近は実写版が作られるね。ドラゴンボールとかデスノートとか。いつかキャプテン翼を見てみたいなー。。。
