We will be talking about Twitter.

David: Have you heard of twitter?

Naoyuki: I may have done.

David: It's a social networking tool, like facebook or mixi, but it's all done through using SNS. You write very short messages which everybody can read. It's very popular in America and Europe.

Naoyuki: So it's not quite a blog, but you use it when you want to write something short.

David: Exactly. Lots of celebrities use it for some reason. So you can read about what Mariah Carey or Britney Spears had for breakfast if you want to. Reading about your favourite actor is a good way to learn English.

Naoyuki: I see. Let's take a look at what Mariah Carey's thinking about...

今日はトゥウィッターについて話します。

デーヴィッド： トゥウィッターって聞いたことある？

ナオユキ： あるかも。

デーヴィッド： facebookやmixiみたいな、ソーシャルネットワーキングツールなんだけど、すべてSNS（ソーシャルネットワーキングサービス）を使ってできるんだ。みんなが読めるとても短いメッセージを書くんだよ。アメリカやヨーロッパではとても人気があるよ。

ナオユキ： じゃー、ブログではないんだけど、何か短く書きたいことがあればそれを使うんだ。

デーヴィッド： その通り。多くの有名人がなぜか使ってるね。だから、マライア・キャリーやブリトニー・スピアーズが朝食で何食べたとか知りたければ読めるよ。大好きな俳優について読めば、英語の良い勉強にもなるね。
ナオユキ： なるほど。マライア・キャリーが何を考えているか見てみるか。。。
