Naoyuki: You lived in Wakayama for a year, didn't you?

Warren:  I sure did. I taught English there in 2005. I lived in a small town called Iwade.

Naoyuki: How was it?

Warren:  It was great! The people are very friendly.

Naoyuki: Oh really? How so?

Warren: Well, when I first arrived I didn't know much about Japan and on my second night I tried going to an izakaya but I had trouble ordering. Thankfully there was a young couple there that helped me order and befriended me. I'm still friends with them to this day.

Naoyuki: That's nice that they helped you order.

Warren:  Yeah, I was grateful because at that time I was totally clueless about restaurants in Japan. I actually tried ordering Ramen in an izakaya....

今日は和歌山について話します。



Onsen in Nachikatsuura



ナオユキ： 君、１年間和歌山に住んでいたんだよね？

ウォーレン： 確かにそうだよ。２００５年にそこで英語を教えていたんだよ。岩出っていう小さな町に住んでいたんだ。

ナオユキ： どうだった？

ウォーレン： すごく良かったよ！みんなとても親切でね。

ナオユキ： へー本当？どんな感じで親切だったの？

ウォーレン： うん、最初に着いた時は日本についてあまり知らなくてね、２日目の夜に居酒屋に行ってみたんだけど、注文がうまくできなかったんだ。ありがたいことに、若いカップルがそこにいて、注文するのを手伝ってくれて、僕の友達になってくれたんだ。今日のこの日まで彼らとは友達でいるよ。

ナオユキ： 彼らが君の注文を手伝ってくれたのは親切だったね。

ウォーレン： うん、ありがたかったよ。だって、その時、日本のレストランについて全く知らなかったからね。僕、実際、居酒屋でラーメンを注文しようとしたんだ。。。
