We will be talking about the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).
Naoyuki: You're taking the JLPT in December, right?
Warren: Yeah, assuming my application was OK, I'll be taking it on December 5.
Naoyuki: What exactly is the JLPT like?
Warren: The JLPT tests people's understanding of Japanese. There are 5 levels. Level 1 is the most difficult and level 5 is the easiest. I'll be taking level 2. There are listening, reading, vocabulary and grammar sections.
Naoyuki: Do you think you can pass?
Warren: It's a long shot, but if I study hard hopefully I can pass.
Naoyuki: You don't sound very confident.
Warren: Well...I didn't do too well on the practice test.
Naoyuki: Well, all our students and I will be cheering for you on the 5th.

ウォーレン： 申し込みが大丈夫だったら、１２月５日に受けることになるよ。
ナオユキ： 具体的には日本語能力試験ってどんなものなの？
ウォーレン： 日本語能力試験は、日本語の理解力をテストするんだけど、５つのレベルがあって、レベル１が一番難しくて、レベル５が一番簡単なんだ。僕はレベル２を受けるんだけどね。リスニング、リーディング、語彙、文法に分かれている。
ナオユキ： 合格できると思う？
ウォーレン： あまり期待できないけど、もし僕が一生懸命勉強したら、願わくば合格できるかな。
ナオユキ： あんまり自信がなさそうだなー。
ウォーレン： うーーん、模擬試験であまり良くなかったんだよ。
ナオユキ： うん、生徒みんなと僕が５日、君のことを応援しているよ。
ウォーレン： ありがとう！
