We will be talking about monkeys station masters today.

Frankie: Hey! Check this out. I guess this "animal station master" thing is catching on.

Naoyuki: What!? Are you serious?

Frankie: Yeah, another railroad in Hyogo prefecture decided to have animal mascots in an attempt to make themselves profitable again.

Naoyuki: Baby monkeys? They're cute, but that isn't very original. I guess they thought they could capitalize on Station Master Tama's success.

Frankie: Yeah -- what a bunch of copycats!

Naoyuki: "Copycats"? -- what do you mean? They're monkeys.

Frankie: Yeah, but when someone copies another person's idea, we call them a "copycat", regardless of what animal they are!

今日は猿の駅長について話します。

フランキー： ほら！これ見て。「動物の駅長」って流行ってるんじゃない。

ナオユキ： 何？本当？

フランキー： うん、兵庫県にある経営不振の別の鉄道会社が、また収益を上げようと動物のマスコットを使うことに決めたんだよ。

ナオユキ： 猿の赤ちゃん？可愛いけど、全く初めてってわけじゃないね。多分彼らは、駅長「たま」の成功を十分利用できると思ったんじゃないかな。

フランキー： うーん、「コピーキャット」ばかりだね！

ナオユキ： 「コピーキャット」?  どういう意味？彼らは猿だよ。

フランキー： うん、でも、誰かが別の人のアイデアを真似するときに、僕らは彼らのことを、「コピーキャット」って呼ぶんだ。どの動物かは関係なくね。
