We will be talking about Komaba's win in Tokyo's regional soccer championship.
Naoyuki: My high school's soccer team won Tokyo's prefectural soccer championship!
Frankie: That's pretty cool. You used to play soccer when you were in high school, didn't you?
Naoyuki: Yes, I did. We made it to the quarter-finals almost every year, and we always dreamed of making it to the national tournament. Tokyo prefecture has a lot of competitive teams, so winning the tournament is a real accomplishment.
Frankie: What's the farthest you ever made it in the tournament?
Naoyuki: We almost made it to the semi-finals twice, but we lost due to a penalty kick both times.
Frankie: I know, I know, I was just kidding! I guess you can say that you are living your dream vicariously through them.
Naoyuki: That's right. Keeping up with the team's progress every year keeps that spirit alive in me. I really gave it my all back then, and seeing them do their best makes me want to do my best every day too.

今日は都立駒場高校サッカー部の東京都大会優勝について話します。
ナオユキ： 僕の高校のサッカー部が東京都大会で優勝したよ！
フランキー： それはかなりすごいね。君、高校の時、サッカーやっていたんだよね？
ナオユキ： うん、やっていたよ。ほぼ毎年準々決勝までは行っていてね、いつも全国大会に出るのを夢見ていたよ。東京は強いチームが多いから、大会で勝つのはほんと偉業だよ。
ナオユキ： 僕らは２回準決勝まで行くとこだったんだけど、両方ともPKで負けちゃったんだ。
フランキー： なんだー、おっしいなー！君、今年のチームうらやましいでしょう！
フランキー： 分かってる、分かってる、冗談だって！こういう風に言えるんじゃないかな、君は彼らを自分の身代わりのように思って、夢を追い続けてるって。
ナオユキ： その通り。毎年チームの結果を見ていることが、僕にその時の気持ちを甦らせるんだ。本当すべてその時に戻ったようになって、彼らが頑張っているのを見ると、僕も毎日頑張りたくなるんだ。

Naoyuki: Jealous isn't the word. This year's team finally accomplished our dream, so I'm really happy for them. Their victory is a win for all of us that have ever played on the team.
